Your '90s Are Showing
13. Lost in Translation: The Red Hot Chili Peppers’ “Scar Tissue”
Was there a time when you felt lost in translation? Join Elaina down the waterslide as she dives into the Red Hot Chili Peppers (RHCP), the enigmatic frat boy soul poets of 1990s punk grunge priest-rock royalty. She focuses on the song “Scar Tissue” and how easily, like an Italian study abroad language disaster, some lyrics can get lost in translation. Elaina may have gotten the lyrics so wrong in her mind, but RHCP has never been so right. What does being humble and curious have to do with vulnerability and breaking through to understanding? We’re all living in our own first person Point of Views (POVs). But sometimes, with insight from the ’90s and today, they can take on a whole new meaning.
Thank you for listening, and don't forget to shine bright!
