19. “Office Space:" The Genius of Mike Judge

Elaina Satti Blazier Episode 19

What if Mike Judge ruled the world? We explore the 1999 cult classic “Office Space,” its enduring impact on workplace culture, and the creative genius of writer and director, Mike Judge. Maybe you feel like putting on Joanna’s 20 pieces of flair, quoting Milton’s classic line “That’s my stapler!” and taking apart your office cubicle with a screw gun and a smile like Peter just thinking about it. Elaina also reveals her experience working in production for 9 years on the hilarious Mike Judge (Hank Hill, Boomhauer,) created Fox animated comedy “King of the Hill” in Los Angeles. No, Mike Judge would probably not remember her, but she loved every second of being around the writers, producers, and staff, not to mention the actors.

Like our high school counselors in the ’90s, Elaina dares to ask: What did you want to be when you grew up? How can we embrace our authentic selves? And who hasn’t wanted to reenact David Herman's copy machine sledge hammer rap  scene? Tune in to find out how taking a leap from Rhode Island to California impacted Elaina’s life – almost 25 years later.

Thank you for listening, and don't forget to shine bright!
